A step back to Alice in Wonderland

I thought I would add the Alice in Wonderland party from last year as was having a quick look through the photos and enjoying the smiles from the day

My daughter absolutely loved this party and has already picked her next one for this year which we have started the look book on for ideas and colours and I love getting her input too as she has very good taste this little girl of mine and after all it is her party.

But before her party is my other sons in May which is also underway and very exciting.

So here are some pictures from a Alice in Wonderland day.

The Alice Cake. This sponge and butter cream is a favorite of mine to make

The Gift bags which the kiddies filled up with treats from the Candy buffet

The Alice Aprons I handmade for the little girls

Vintage Cowboy Party

So this would have to be a new favorite party, I originally wanted a Cowboy Party which was based on the present I had gotten Brody months ago, and after consulting my favorite site which is http://www.thetomkatstudio.com/ they customized some boy versions of their girl Vintage Cowboy Designs, so things just grew. With the colour scheme, which I wanted Blue, Red, Cream and Chocolate Brown as I think these are really cool boy colours and just work so well together. I had sourced a couple of original Western Magazines from 1961 which were straight from Texas U.S.A would you believe so when these arrived I could not wait to frame them and they had a double meaning as I only wanted them for the front cover and they are quite thick magazines so the rest of the magazine were for my Grand Father (the kids Great Grandfather) who loves all things Western. These frames turned out fabulous and are perfect for their other purpose also which is another post.

The idea for the back drop came at the beginning when I though it would be great to try and re-create either the back of a Western Wagon or have a Salon type effect, so began the sewing of that and design, which turned out super easy to make.

Just loving the new Wagon Pop I came up with at the spare of the moment which has now been made in a girl version which I will make my next post, along with more details on how to make them. Originally it was just going to be Wagon Wheels on a nice serving platter after a good friend Katie suggested adding them to the party, so when it came to making some cake-pops I thought why not add a lollypop stick and do a candy clay label with a print, and whalla, perfect. Along with some nice packaging which I had, it made them even better.

The cake which I wanted just simple with our favorite Sponge, Jam and Cream filled with Buttercream frosting and the Cowboy on a Horse which I found at the beginning of course.

So we were very happy with how it turned out and now onto next party and am working on some new little treats for the next party which I think will turn out quite well.

A fabulous idea I sourced from my favorite people

Came together wondeful with the TeePee Birthday present

The fabulous Collage of pictures created by Niki

Did I mention I also had fun searching for Cowboy saying and believe it or not I actually found a website with a Cowboy / Western Dictionary, Amazing what you can find.

So onto the next party and lucky I have a bit more time to plan and get underway, but already started with a few things as I get so excited and go with what I find or with what comes to me.

Finalising last details

Wow, I cannot believe that I have almost finished the small details of the party and have just left the baking to do and a few small craft bits and pieces for it, but majority has been completed. Just finished printing all the labels for the food and cakes which have turned out amazingly thanks to Toni and Molly at the Tomkat Studio for doing my customization for this special party, such wonderful wonderful people to deal with. Have included a few sneak peaks of some of the divine ideas for the party.

Vintage inspired Cake Pops

Yesterday was our flower day and my daughters choice were Pink and White, good choice I have to admit they are divine in colour and are the perfect style for our pitcher we now use as a vase. So this was my inspiration for the White Tim Tam Cake Pops which taste just heavenly and are super easy to make and no baking needed so even better with this humid and scorching weather lately.

A Sneak Peak

My next upcoming party is a new one and I am so excited, so will give you a glimpse of the general idea, the rest you will have to wait for.

The ever so waited launch

Welcome, this has been a long time coming and also with time being my main factor I decided to get my rear into gear and just go with it. To those who know me I have so many things on the go, with working casually for my favorite place to running our family business to baking and most of all my most prized job looking after my family and raising our three gorgeous children, sure its chaotic but its a fun chaos and that's whats life is about, we are all here for a fun time not a long time.

My most favorite things to do are baking, sewing, fashion, party styling and crafts with my kiddies, and did I mention shopping, well that's a given when you spend two days in a shopping centre.

So without further a due this blog has now started and hopefully it will be successful, its about what I love and what I love to share.

Enjoy and please come back
